And how to make this panel mouse-clickable I wonder?įor me, urxvt is too bare-bones of a terminal. Now, where is the number of tags set? I would like 9 tags instead of 6. OK, I got the panel up to twice its height and the font up to a comfortable 16-point (changed lines 17 and 18 of panel.sh): panel_height=32įont="-*-fixed-medium-*-*-*-16-*-*-*-*-*-*-*" The panel is a bash script in ~/.config/herbstluftwm/panel.sh. I figured out how to change the panel height and font size. The font size on the panel is super tiny for my aging eyes – I use about twice this size for the panel in dwm. OK, I can see the bold vs dim font now if I look closely. (But if someone wanted to change it – it is “super” easy to do – only one entry in the autostart file.) I had to did deeper in my parts bins to find a newer one with the windows key, because it was driving me crazy, though I can’t remember the specifics of what were the program(s) involved. I used it on an old keyboard – without windows key (what would that be? 30-years-old?). Otherwise, it’s dimmer.Īlt as mod key conflicted with program keybindings, if I remember correctly. If a program is running on a tag, the tag is bold. The capability of updating configuration on the fly is still a key distinguishing feature… I would not worry about the fact that these changes would make it look and behave more like DWM. I believe that making some reasonable changes like the above and some other will make Herbstluftwm somewhat more streamlined and useful… I believe in the current default config of Herbstluft wm such keybinding or function does not exist. with web browser for a longer time, this feature is really handy. ![]() Just as DWM has ALT+b, which hides bar and allows the programs to use the entire real estate of the screen automatically. – I would add the keybinding for hiding the bar. So if antiX is also for very old computers, ‘Windows’ key as the most important and most used key in such WM is not optimal. The main reason for this would be that old keyboards with old computers do not have ‘Windows’ key. – The MOD Key – It is better to change from current default as ‘Win’ ‘superkey’ to ALT. – The default terminal change to something like ROXTerm, which is more useful. – The bar (the bar on top) tag mappings – to streamline and add windows status indicators in them, ![]() Having given a bit more thought and following Christophe’s suggestions I also think a subtle wallpaper would be good to have…Īlso, in terms of low hanging fruit, if establishing more streamline default keybindings and basic config is to be understood as part of configuration anticapitalista asks about and not some flashy and fancy customization, then I do agree that some such understood configuration would be beneficial. If you think it should be configured, let us know how.

Now my TR drives so smooth that i can steer with one hand, and have my coffee in the other. All fore tires needed to be force balanced, and swiped to get them to balance out.Mount and balance by a specialist, like i had to take my tires to, was not cheep. I had to return one tire three times before my tire installer would mount and balance it. I found out that Universal is only a broker, and the tires are made by Tire Specialities.Who own the mold for our redlines. I know i have been recommending Universal Tire for some time, but my last experience with a new set of their red lines was a bad one. As an aside, there are quit a few 165x80/15 tires available in the USA and though most are not "H", they are probably as good as the Coker or Universal and cost from $50 - $70. Google up some British based TR6 forums and you will find the same discussions about tires as here with 165's coming in as the common choice. The 185's were for us Americans who love biggg tires as was the red stripe for some reason. I have mentioned this before but consider that the home market TR6's always rode on 165x15 tires with the exact same wheel width. Honestly, I think both Coker and Universal are maybe $100 tires, but if a red stripe is worth another $100 to you then go for it. I think Coker and Universal are ? rated and I understand both can suffer from un-balancability. Down side, it does not have a red stripe (that's Jamaican beer), "oh my", but they do stick. They are in the ballpark $ wise and I think far superior to Coker (whoever makes their red-line) or Universal (ditto). The Swan Silvertones – If You Believe HOB HBX 2135 (1971) Author Syd Fablo Posted on SeptemSeptemCategories Music, Reviews Tags Gospel, Swan Silvertones The Swan Silvertones – If You Believe It’s yet another forgotten gem in The Swan Silvertones’ catalog. From songs like “How Great Thou Art” it’s easy to see the direction the group would take through the mid-1970s during their tenure on HOB Records. At times there is even just a bit of country-rock influence. There are bouncy, up-tempo rhythms as well as slower, smoother, organ-drenched sounds. Swan Silvertones – I Found the Answer Peacock PLP-181 (1973)Īn album supposedly culled from leftover material recorded for Vee-Jay Records in the 1960s that develops a soul-inflected sound - though given the apparent absence of Paul Owens and the possibility that it’s Claude Jeter imitator Carl Davis rather than Jeter himself here, I wonder if this material is from the post-Vee-Jay era. ![]() Author Syd Fablo Posted on NovemNovemCategories Music, Reviews Tags Gospel, Swan Silvertones The Swan Silvertones – Try Me Master ![]() On the whole, this is a characteristic effort from the group’s tenure on HOB Records, and worth a listen for anyone with an interest in soul-inflected gospel. But generally The Swans bring enough energy to the table that it’s easy to let the album’s weaknesses slip by. So they borrow a guitar riff straight out of Al Green‘s “Love and Happiness” to open their version of “Leak in This Old Building”. The group does seem to run a bit low on ideas in places. The last of those finds Louis Johnson going much further than usual with some of his most subtly complex songwriting and arranging, with vocals punctuated by a somber horn and a jittery, rambunctious piano. The best of the bunch are the title track, the organ-drenched “Happy With Jesus Alone”, and “Life of a Sinner”.
